Q1. When was the retirement Visa
established and for what reason?
Retirement Visa was announced by the Department ministry of
Justice and human rights, in 1998 with No.M.04-IZ.01.02 and
published and starting to operate on April 18,2002. Designed
for foreign pensioners to stay & live in Indonesia after
their retirement, to avoid leaving the country every month to
get a new Visa. With the retirement visa they can stay in Indonesia
for long term and just need visa extention once a year. |

Q2. Who can apply Retirement Visa?
Aged 55 years old or over, no Indonesian or international
police records. Nationalities must be one of these;

Q3. How much is the cost?
MAS tours & travel charge Rp.7,500,000 (around US$857,
US$1=Rp.8,760) for the first arrangement. And you need to
pay the application fee at embbasy / consulate of Indonesia
to apply your Retirement Visa, this fee is not inclueded in
our arrangement fee. Our arrangement fee is included these
item and service as follows;

Blue Book (Registration foreigner at immigration)

Q4. Who will be my sponsor during
my stay in Indonesia?
Your sponsorship must be one of travel agent which has special
license from immigration in Indonesia and you should to be
arrange for any your travel document by this kind of travel
agent. MAS tours & travel is one of seldom travel agent
which has special license from immigration in Indonesia for
retirement visa. So MAS tours & travel can proceed anythings
for you to arrange the retirement visa from the begining until
the end. And MAS tours & travel will be your sponsorship
if you requiest to MAS tours & travel for arrangement
of retirement visa.

Q5. I don't retired yet but I would
like to get a Retirement Visa. Is it possible or not?
If your age is 55 years old or over, you can apply the Retirement
Visa in case you never work or do business activities in Indonesia
eventhough you still work in your country.

Q6. How much is the cost for living
in Bali?
It is depend on the quarity of your life which you need or
want in Bali, especially the most important factor is how
to choose house or accommodation. According to the official
announcement of immigration, Retirement Visa holder should
have at least US$1,500 from pension or bank deposit per month.
Of course you should consider to your living expenses in Bali
with around US$1,500 per month as the official announcement,
but we have some cases that some of our clients have been
able to have the Retirement Visa eventhough thier conditions
are not enough. It is most important for immigration that
foreign pensioner has enough money by his / her self to live
in Bali. And MAS Travel recommend you should estimate around
US$1,000 - 1,200 for living expenses in Bali per month for
a couple.

Q7. Regarding to the Health Insurance,
Life Insurance, and Personal Liability Insurance, I must have
all the insurances? Which insurances canl I be to insured
in Bali? And if yes, Is it Indonesian insurance company?
Please prepare just copy of health insurance and life insurans
which you are insured in your country. There are some Indonesian
insurance company in Bali also, if you don't have any insurance
yet. Regarding to Personal Liability, only "Allianz Indonesia".has
this kind of insurance. In Indonesia any insurance company
can accept the customer whose age is to 60 years. Please ask
us more detail information if you don't have any insurance
yet until now.

Q8. What kind of document should
be prepared if I want to apply Retirement Visa?
You are required to prepare all the documents as follows.
For some of documents, MAS tours & travel will help for
your documentation. Please don't hesitate to ask us.
Copy of your Passport （The validity should be one year more)
Passport photo 4cm X 6cm = 10pcs, 3cm X 4cm = 4pcs , 2cm X
3cm = 4pcs
* The background should be red color.
Your Resume (Curriculum Vitae)
Proof of holding a pension or Deposit - Bank statement
Proof of receipt or through renting proof of rental agreement.
The mentioned accommodation must be located at an authorized
tourist area and in accordance with the prevailing regulations.
Copy of Health insurance, Life Insurance and Personal Liability
Employment Letter - Affidavit. You must emply at least one
Indonesian citizen for assistancces kind of work, such as
nursing, housekeeping or any other kind of assistances during
your stay in Indonesia.
Copy of marriage certificate (any applicant whose spouse wishes
to apply for Retirement Visa)
* It is possible for your spouse to apply the visa with marriage
certificate eventhough he / she is still under 55 years old.

Q9. Regarding to "employment
agreement", must be written the details of wages and occupation
in it? Or just kind of announcement to employ Indonesian citizen?
Indonesian goverment requires this kind of letter because the
unemployment rate is very high in Indonesia and so that the
employment rate could be higher. MAS tours & travel will
help you for the documentation. |

Q10. Must I come to immigration
and police office by the person myself for my documentarion
of the visa?
Almost all arrangement will be done by the staff
of MAS tours & travel after our clients checking through
the dodument. But you must come to immigration office by the
person yourself just for signature to arrange your KITAS.
Of course MAS tours & travel will attend you to go to
immigration office.

Q11. For the required document,
is it possible to be accepted just the deposit bank statement
instead of the proof of holding a pension?
Yes, your deposit of bank statement will be accepted instead
of the proof of holding a pension surely. It is important
to certify that you have enough money to live in Bali without
any job or business activities.

Q12. How long will it take the process
from the begining until I get the Retirement Visa?
After MAS tours& travel recieve all the required documents
from you, MAS tours & travel will apply your TELEX VITAS
to immigration head office in Jakarta immediatelly. It will
take 2 - 3 weeks to get your TELEX VITAS. And you go to the
embassy / consulate of Indonesia by the person yourself to
apply your Retirement Visa, this process will need 3 - 4 days
(it depend on the embassy). But if you apply at the embassy
of Indonesia in Singapore, you can be assisted by agent which
can arrange for the embassy. If you use this agent, you need
just 1 day in Singapore and you don't need to go to the embassy
by the person yourself. After you get your Retirement Visa,
please come to Indonesia immediately and you need report to
immigration office in Bali within 7 days. After reporting
at immigration office in Bali, it will take 2 - 3 weeks to
arrange your KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) and Yellow Book (Police
Report). But if in the period of Indonesian national holiday
or Balinese religious holiday, it might be taken more long
time for the arrangement because immigration office and police
office are also closed.

Q13. Can all the applicant get the
Retirement Visa?
Almost all the cases the Retirement visa will be issued if
the applicant has suitable condition and submit all the documents.
However, it depend on judgement by the embassy / consulate
of Indonesia and immigration office in Indonesia.

Q14. What kind of document should
I prepare if my wife also want to get the Retirement Visa?
You need to prepare Marriage Certificate between you and your
wife. And the arrangement fee is same price for your wife also,
There is no discount system eventhough for 1 couple. It is possible
for your wife to apply the visa with marriage certificate eventhough
she is still under 55 years old. But you don't have any marriage
certificate with her, she can apply other kind of visa, for
example "Sosial Budaya
Visa". If your wife use this kind of visa, the length
of her stay become so far shorter than you, and she can't get
KITAS (Limited Stay Permit). So she need to make visa trip per
6 month at least. MAS tours & travel recommend that your
wife also apply the Retirement Visa so that both of you just
need visa extention 1 time 1 year in same period. |

Q15. What should I do or is there
any process if I want to go back to my country or make a trip
for abroad just for a while?
You are required to arrange "Re-entry
Permit" before you leave from Indonesia, and this arrangement
fee is not inculuded in our arrangement fee for Retirement Visa.
There are 2 types of Re-entry Permit, one is "Single Re-entry
Permit" that just 1 time (exit and re-enty) is permitted
in 90 days. Another is "Multiple re-entry permit"
that plural times are permitted in 180 days. If you leave from
Indonesia with Re-entry Permit, you must come back to Indonesia
within the validity which is written in your Re-entry Permit.
If you don't come back within that validity, your visa will
be expired. And it will take 2 - 3 days for arrangement of Re-entry
Permit. Please ask MAS tours & travel to arrange one of
Re-entry Permit immediately if your planning is fixed up for
trip to abroad. Or MAS tours & travel recommend that you
ask us to arrange Multiple Re-entry Permit in once time when
we arrange your KITAS, so that you can leave from Indonesia
for emergency case. And you must pay FISKAL (Exit tax for Indonesian
citizen / Rp.1,000,000) at the international airport in Indonesia
before departure. KITAS holder required to pay FISKAL as well
as Indonesian citizen. |

Q16. Is my Retirement Visa expired
if I leave from Indonesia?
Your Retirement Visa is never expired if you arrange Re-entry
Permit before you leave and you come back to Indonesia within
the validity. Please refer Q15 as above,
too. |

Q17. Can I work or do business activities
in Indonesia if I have the Retirement Visa?
Retirement Visa holder is prohibitted to work and do business
activitie in Indonesia if foreigner has the Retirement Visa
from Indonesian immigration and the embassy / consulate of Indonesia.
So if you have planning to work or do business activities in
Indonesia after you get the the Retirement Visa, you must change
your visa into Working Visa,
Single Entry Visa,
or Multiple Entry Visa.

Q18. Can I join any volunteer activities
in Indonesia if I have the Retirement Visa?
Yes, possible. You need to be issued some agreement letter
by the organization / association where you join as a volunteer.
And MAS tours & travel will help for the documentation
so that you can join volunteer activities. Please contact
to MAS tours & travel if you get the place for volunteer
activities.

Q19. How much the cost to rent a
house or accommodation in Bali?
It depend on the quarity of accommodation you need. There are
so many kind of acccommodation and category , for example hotel,
deluxe villa, bungalow or homestay. MAS tours & travel also
has many information about accommodation in Bali for long stay.
Please ask us for the detail if you need. And we sincerely recommend
that you stay at bungalow, homestay or hotel if you live in
Bali alone, so that you can call staff there at anytime for
emergency. |

Q20. When should I pay any arrangement
fee to MAS Travel and where can I pay?
If you still residence in your country or other country:
Please pay the fee to us when you need to arrange KITAS (Limited
Stay Permit). After you enter to Indonesia with your visa, please
contact us because you must report and arrange KITAS at immifration
office in Bali. We can accept by cash and credit card (if you
use any credit card for your paymeny in Indonesia, your payment
will be added for extra charge for credit card). If you pay
by cash, we requiest your payment should be in lump sum. The
currency of your payment should be in Indonesian Rupiah.
If you already in Bali before the process:
Please pay the fee to us when you bring all the required documents
to us. We can accept by cash and credit card (if you use any
credit card for your paymeny in Indonesia, your payment will
be added for extra charge for credit card). If you pay by cash,
we requiest your payment should be in lump sum. The currency
of your payment should be in Indonesian Rupiah. |

Q21. How long the validity of Retirement
Visa?
The validity of Retirement Visa is for 1 year. If you need to
extend it, MAS tours & travel will arrange to extend your
visa in advance 1 month at least before your visa is expired.
You can extend your visa inside of Indonesia, don't need to
make any visa trip. Your visa can be extended per year until
5 times, after that you will apply KTAP (Permanent Stay Permit)
for 5 years. |
